Suminagashi, or “floating ink,” is the traditional Japanese art of floating ink on water and setting onto paper a fluid design formed on the water’s surface.
Each bookmark is created individually by hand in the Hudson Valley using water drawn from the Esopus Creek.
Each piece captures a unique pattern. No two bookmarks are alike.
